KOREAN HOTSPOT IN CBD SOUTH
The Korean business community is establishing a commercial stronghold at the southern end of the Sydney CBD area, according to Ray White Commercial.
Ray White Commercial Office Leasing director John Skufris said the Korean Working Holiday Supporting Centre Incorporated is the latest business to relocate within this precinct.
The centre has taken up a three year lease in International House, on the corner of Bathurst and Pitt Streets, Sydney. Mr Skufris, who negotiated the deal, said the leasing deal highlights the Korean business community’s growing demand for retail and office opportunities in Sydney’s southern CBD.
“They are particularly keen on the area bounded by Bathurst, Pitt, George and Goulburn Streets,” he said.
“It is an emerging alternative to Sydney’s Spanish Quarter and Chinatown as a hotspot for fashion, hair and beauty, hospitality, education and student services. It is like a Little Korea.
“Significantly, the Korean Working Holiday Supporting Centre has a Memorandum of Understanding with the Republic of Korea Consulate General in Sydney.
Mr Skufris said the Korean Working Holiday Supporting Centre’s lease commenced with initial rental of $330 per sqm per annum gross.
