SPECIALIST SERVICES ATTRACTED TO SYDNEY’S MIDTOWN
The opening of the $860 million Westfield Sydney CBD redevelopment has prompted specialist services to consider leasing opportunities nearby.
Ray White Commercial Office Leasing Director John Skufris said as well as attracting fashion houses and specialty retailers in its own right, Westfield Centrepoint has lured other businesses to the area.
“There has been elevated interest from jewellery, fashion, cosmetic, health groups and small bar operators, particularly in the precinct bounded by George, Park, Elizabeth and Hunter streets,” Mr Skufris said.
Ray White Commercial has negotiated a new lease nearby to gold distributor Australian Gual Metals Pty Limited at Level 2, 88 Pitt Street.
“The familiarity of Pitt Street and the proximity to Sydney’s thriving retail precinct were seen to be important requirements for Australian Gual Metals,” Mr Skufris said. “The location also offers convenience to Martin Place and Wynyard Station.”
Australian Gual Metals secured a two year lease at commencing rent of $550 psm per annum gross.
Mr Skufris said the St. James Trust Building, at 185 Elizabeth Street, was an example of a building that had benefitted from the Westfield redevelopment.
“This building, which offers approximately 7,900sqm of net lettable area next to Sheraton on the Park with two street frontages, is now 100 per cent leased,” he said.
