High profile retail tenancies over the first two floors of the Sydney CBD’s landmark Grace Building are being offered for lease by Ray White Commercial.
Following on from the success of the $860 million Westfield Sydney CBD redevelopment and the reopening of Pitt Street Mall, The Grace Hotel on the former Grace Bros site at 77 York Street is offering prime retail leasing opportunities.
Ray White Commercial Office Leasing Director John Skufris said the Grace Building was widely recognised as one of Sydney’s most elegantly restored Neo Gothic buildings.
“It was built and modelled on the Chicago Tribune building and was the corporate headquarters of Grace Bros before being converted into The Grace Hotel in 1997,” Mr Skufris said.
“The hotel was beautifully renovated and many original art deco features were retained. Now there is the opportunity for businesses to lease space in this wonderful building, which already has tenants including Mecca Espresso and Vermicelli.”
Mr Skufris said the retail space on offer included 446 sqm in ShopG1, 276 sqm on the ground floor and 170 sqm on the mezzanine level with all potential locations for businesses such as bars and restaurants.
“Shop G1 is now occupied by the award winning Grace Cafe and Bar 77Grace,” he said.
Ray White Commercial's Anthony Harris said: "Notable Sydney eateries and bars including, Machiavelli, Athenian, Redoak Boutique Beer Cafe and Bavarian Bier Cafe are all located nearby.
“The Grace Hotel is also opposite the Merivale CBD hotel and naturally there is excellent passing trade in this area of the city.
“While the space available is ideal for bars and cafes, all other retail uses will be considered."
Expressions of interest for The Grace Hotel retail space close at 5pm on Monday, March 14, 2011.
