KING STREET WHARF ATTRACTING OFFICE TENANTS
Sydney’s King Street Wharf, the CBD’s waterside community known for its bars and restaurants, is becoming increasingly popular for office tenancies, says Ray White Commercial.
Ray White Commercial Office Leasing Director John Skufris said national strategic communications and marketing group Reputation Australia is the latest company to take up a tenancy in the King Street Wharf precinct.
Mr Skufris said Reputation Australia has leased a two level retail/commercial terrace with parking at 37 Shelley Street from Melbourne-based investors.
He said the proposed nearby Barangaroo redevelopment and Macquarie Group’s decision to relocate there had fast-tracked tenant interest in King Street Wharf.
“Ten years after King Street Wharf opened Barangaroo is set to evolve into arguably the world’s most exciting urban renewal project on the world’s best harbour,” he said.
“The conversion of Barangaroo’s famous industrial glory into an active residential, commercial and recreational precinct is already assisting to revive King Street Wharf for new office tenants, investors and owner occupiers alike.”
Ray White Commercial’s Office Leasing Director Anthony Harris said the deal with Reputation Australia was one of a number of recent sales and leasing transactions completed by his office for the King Street Wharf precinct.
“King Street Wharf is attracting buyers and tenants from the city’s western corridor, Kings Cross to the east and North Sydney,” he said.
“Other new groups to King Street Wharf include executive rental specialists the Property Business Australia and online outsourcing web business Freelancer.com.”
Reputation Australia’s three year lease commenced with initial rent of $425 per sqm gross.
