CONSULAR MATTERS

Romania’s Consulate-General to New South Wales has joined other overseas consular offices in the western corridor of the Sydney CBD.

Ray White Commercial Office Leasing Director John Skufris said the officials had moved from Elizabeth Bay to new offices at Upper Ground, 83 York Street, Sydney.

The Romanian Consulate-General secured a three-year lease for 147.8 sqm of office space for $480 per sqm gross per annum.

The deal was negotiated Mr Skufris and Ray Commercial Office Leasing Co-Director Anthony Harris on behalf of the owners, Singaporean private investment group WTL Enterprises.

“The boundaries of Market, King, York and Kent streets has been a popular location for consular offices based in Sydney's CBD and this trend seems set to continue."

“Consular offices from Spain, France, Ireland & Brazil are also located in the CBD’s western corridor,” Mr Skufris said.

Mr Harris said the office on the western side of York Street was a short walk to the Queen Victoria Building.

"The Consulate-General of Romania's move offers an existing high quality fit out, signage opportunities and potential for on-site parking, all located close to major rail and bus interchanges," he said.

“The building features sandstone and brick façade, on-site building management, three modern passenger lifts as well as shower facilities.”
