CONSTRUCTION FIRMS ON THE MOVE

Construction firms & building contractors have been rushing to secure Sydney CBD office accommodation in readiness for 2012, says Ray White Commercial.

Ray White Commercial Office Leasing Director John Skufris said national commercial building and construction group Hansen Yuncken was the latest major building company to acquire new space.

Hansen Yuncken secured 74sqm located at Level 1, 84 Pitt Street, Sydney with initial rent of $470 psm pa.

The deal was negotiated by Mr. Skufris on behalf of Winston Sammut, founder of Sydney based boutique funds management company Maxim Asset Management.

“In the latter part of 2011, we have received good enquiry from and on behalf of building contractors seeking premises either close to existing and new projects or in close proximity to key clients,” Mr. Skufris said.

Ray White Commercial’s Anthony Harris added most project space requirements are for lease terms of up to two years.

“The need for project space is typically immediate, which is comforting for owners seeking tenants over the holiday period,” he said.

“Hansen Yuncken’s new premises comprise partitioned offices including a meeting room with furnishings as well as a kitchenette and storage facilities.”

84 Pitt Street is a strata-titled building between Martin Place and Hunter Street, opposite Angel Place.
